Kindermusik is music-making with a purpose.
Early introduction to
music and movement impacts your child’s brain and body development in a way few
other learning methods can. We should know. We’ve been transforming the lives
of children, parents and teachers around the world since 1978.
Science has shown that
children of any age learn more when the learning is playful and fun.
Kindermusik kids laugh, smile, stomp, play, kick, clap, jump, sing, and dance.
But having fun is just the beginning.
Steeped in educational
theory, our programs engage the potential found in every child. Through our
dynamic classes, in-school programs, and research-based curriculum, we excel at
setting a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Our purpose is simple.
We’re here to develop young minds and change the world. One child at a time.
Let it begin with Kindermusik®.

Kindermusik Mixed-Age Class
Your Kindermusik Educator, Ellen Singh, was selected and served a 4-year term of service on the Kindermusik International 'Partnership of Kindermusik Educators' (PKE) Board of Advisors, or more appropriate "The SOUND Board".
The mission of this board is to represent and support the community of 5,000+ Kindermusik Educators and work cooperatively with Kindermusik Corporate Staff to bring Kindermusik to the world. Additionally, her tasks included assisting in developing the Kindermusik International Conferences in New Orleans, LA (Summer 2018) and Toronto, Canada (Summer 2020 – postponed due to pandemic) AND designing/presenting webinars on the topics of pedagogy & business issues for Kindermusik educators’ continuing education requirements.
She is honored and humbled to have taken on this volunteer position in which she aspired to utilize her passion for music in expansive ways.
A Kindermusik Birthday Party Activity is great musical fun that your child will LOVE and you don’t have to plan! It’s approximately 30 minutes of a “mini-Kindermusik” class (i.e. music & movement with samplings of class activities) specially designed to be age-appropriate to your child. The party activity includes such fun as singing, moving, listening, dancing, circle songs, story time (a birthday book!), playing instruments, parachute play, etc. All music, instruments, props, etc used are provided for the activity. Note: I do not schedule parties on Sunday mornings.
Program Policies
Choosing a Class
The age
recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully
constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate
way. Therefore, it is important that
your child be at least the minimum age by the start date for the class in which
you are enrolling. If you have concerns
about your child’s success in a particular age range, I would be happy to
discuss your child’s needs and to work with you to place him/her in the class
best suited for him/her.
Register
Early
Although you may
join a class at any time, please register early since class sizes are limited
and many fill quickly. If you enroll
after the class begins, tuition can be pro-rated accordingly. Payment in full is due at registration. There is a $25 fee for returned checks.
Enrollment
Confirmation
A class registration
form and full payment must be received before enrollment can be confirmed. You will receive an “Initial Class
Information” E-mail shortly before class begins to confirm your enrollment.
Refunds
There are NO tuition
refunds unless there are extreme extenuating circumstances and at the discretion of your teacher.
Child
Illness Policy
In courtesy to other
class participants, please do not
bring your child to class if he/she has had any of the following symptoms
within 24 hours prior to class time: fever, rash, diarrhea,
vomiting, pink eye, etc.
Make-Up Classes
Classes will be made
up only in the event of teacher absence and/or her children’s
illness. If inclement weather occurs and
the SIUE Campus or Edwardsville District 7 Schools are closed, your class will
be cancelled. If in doubt, call me!
(618-792-6190). I have my
business phone with me and on.
Non-enrolled Siblings
Due to the carefully
researched structure of the Kindermusik curriculum and for you, your
child, and the group to get the most out of each class, do not bring non-enrolled siblings to class.
Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes
Plan to arrive about
5-10 minutes prior to your class time. Arriving a few minutes early provides time for your child to settle into
the musical environment as he/she prepares to enjoy exploring instruments,
reading books, and/or listening to music.
I do request that toys, juice cups, and pacifiers be kept out of sight,
and that snacks/drinks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress comfortably.
During class, the
most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient
role model. It is not uncommon for a
child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged - what a child is
absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment
rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the
parent or caregiver in class and at home is key to facilitating musical
learning and growth.
Parents, please
visit with peers before and after class, but not during class time. When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic
participant in the class activities, your child will model your actions and
focus more fully too.
You and your child
will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make
active use of your At Home Materials.
Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the
difference in a child’s comfort and participation in the class room as well as
in his/her developing life-long love of music.
Questions
or Concerns?
If at any time
during your class enrollment you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to
contact me. I look forward to having
you and your child join us for a wonderful time of musical fun and learning
together in Kindermusik class!
ATTENTION: COVID19 Safety Protocol
I take all aspects of everyone's health and safety very seriously for ALL of my Kindermusik classes. All of my Kindermusik instruments and props are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and every family will have their own set of instruments not to be shared with others. I will have hand sanitizer always available and request that everyone wash their hands with soap and water after they arrive in the building before class and after class. Masks are optional. Each family will have a designated space and be separated from other families by at least 6 feet. Serious emphasis will be made regarding my "class illness policy".
Much of the above protocol has always been a part of my Kindermusik classes and the far majority of my Kindermusik families are very conscientious about not sharing germs and illnesses.
All Covid protocol will be adhered to and in compliance with the CDC and Restore Illinois.
Current Covid safety guidelines subject to change.
