Biography
Ellen Singh earned her
degrees from the University of Evansville (BS Sociology & Communications)
and University of Illinois (MSW-LCSW).
She has been an accredited Kindermusik educator and business owner since 2004 after having worked in the field of social work as a clinical therapist for a decade. She has a broad spectrum of educational and clinical experiences including child development, group dynamics, and relationship building which are essential in teaching music to children and their families. Equally, she has gained widespread networking/public relations and entrepreneurial experiences as her Kindermusik business has grown and continues to develop throughout the years.
In addition to teaching in her Kindermusik studio, she directed the “SIUE Presents Kindermusik with Ellen Singh” program from 2005-2022 and taught the SIUE Suzuki Program Pre-Reading Music Theory class from 2005-2011. She has provided classes for the SIUE Head Start Program in East St. Louis and has a Kindermusik program at the Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis. She is also an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark Community College teaching a class entitled, "Music for the Preschool Teacher".
She recently completed
serving 4 years on the Kindermusik International Educators' Board of Advisors
where she collaborated with corporate staff; advocated for peer educators;
developed CEU webinars, and planned conferences. Currently, she works for
Kindermusik International teaching virtual Kindermusik classes for children
with hearing and visual impairments in partnership with the North Carolina
Department of Instruction.
This studio, with accredited Kindermusik educator, Ellen Singh, has been awarded the
'Kindermusik Top Program Award', the highest recognition awarded by Kindermusik
International. This award recognizes the top 200 Kindermusik programs
internationally for profoundly impacting the mission to reach all children
with the benefits of Kindermusik.
